This appointment must be chronicled, because it was the best yet! I entered today ready to hear "no change" and it must have shown on my face because my doctor described the look on my face as a "face of steal." But turns out, quite to my surprise, I am now around 3-4 centimeters dilated, and if my doctor's theory continues to hold true, he said he will be surprised if I make it to my appointment next Friday! He continued with, "which is a good thing because I am on-call three times this week." Of course, I continue to ask how long do you have to wait before you are induced after your due date, and he laughed, at me I am sure of it, and said "that is nothing you need to be concerned about. Truly!" So, my final question was about the H1N1 shot, and the clinic at Papa Johns Stadium this Wednesday. His response, "considering that you are 3-4cm, and I expect you to go quickly when you go into labor, do you really want to give birth in the parking lot at Papa John's Stadium surrounded by port-a-potties? I would not recommend you going." Haha, my doctor is always there for a good laugh.
Whether or not this is the last week of my pregnancy, it is fun to dream that this time next week we could be meeting our little girl in person for the first time! And if we have to wait another 2-3 weeks for that, that really is ok too. Because there is always more to do around the house to prepare for the big day--because no one is ever 100% ready for a baby. But I can say, I am 100% excited about this little baby.
