Our Sick Baby Girl

Bella had been a bit fussy for a few days, and the hint should have been her lack of eating since she loves food so much.  She even started reaching, not for her ears, but for the back of her neck.  But I took her temperature Sunday night, and there was nothing out of the ordinary, so I assumed it was the mighty molars she was getting on top.  On Monday of this past week though, she stayed with her Aunt Sarah, and woke up with a fever.  Sarah did a great job keeping her happy and comfortable until my mom was able to run out there and get her, and then in turn meet me at the doctor, which is only minutes from my work.  I was able to get an appointment that day, one thing I LOVE about my pediatrician, and scheduled it specifically with Dr. Wampler because of his thorough exams and care when it comes to his patients (though all the doctors and nurse practitioners are great at our pediatricians office).

Turns out, she has an ear infection, first time ever, in her left ear, and fluid in her right.  Dr. Wampler prescribed her a good dose of her first ever antibiotic, and she has been feeling up ever since.  Days have been good, she continues to play hard, though nights were a bit more difficult the first few, because our poor little girl just whimpered in her sleep.  Regardless, she is on the road to recovery, thank goodness!  Hopefully this ear thing will not be reoccurring.
