Somehow we managed to survive this past weekend. I took Friday off, after Bella spent most of the week with a runny nose, so I could get her to the doctor and I could have the chance to play "mommy" and take care of my little girl. Turned out, it was just a cold, and now that we are on Day 9 of a runny nose, we are hoping it comes to an end soon. Knowing she wasn't too sick, and the nose was more of a nuessance than anything else, I expected the weekend to be uneventful but enjoyable. Ha!
On Saturday I woke up a bit before Bella, with a feeling if dizziness that quickly turned into nausea. I was able to get her out of her bed at 6, but I spent much of the time following, when I wasn't chasing her, in the bathroom. You can imagine, you don't need the details--though one of my students did want to know the specifics, which I refused to share. Caddy didn't seem to healthy himself, as he wouldn't eat any of his breakfast. By 7:30am I realized I couldn't do this anymore, and we woke up Drew and called my parents to come get Bella. Once Bella was out of the house, I was condemned to our bedroom and master bathroom, where I spent the next 10 hours. Needless to say, it was a rough day for the whole family. Bella didn't get to spend time with her mommy and daddy like her typical Saturdays--though she had an ejoyable day with her grandparents, Caddy was anxious and whiny because he didn't feel well--though he appreciated the extra love and care from Drew parents, Drew was overwhelmed with the role of caregiver and house disinfector, and me, I was pretty much incoherent.
Thankfully, I was recovered by Sunday, though very weak as I couldn't eat much. Bella had returned so we were able to enjoy her, but Caddy was full fledged sick, and that meant a lot of extra care for, and cleaning up after, him. Is it possible he caught my crazy stomach virus?
Three days out, my belly has finally stopped aching and I can eat most of the things I could before the whole ordeal. Caddy is working his way back to recovery and Bella is enjoying the return of her regular routine, as is her daddy. Sorry for the unneeded details, but this was our reality over the weekend, and the reason you haven't seen any updated posts. Don't worry, there is plenty to share, but please hang in there as I try to get back into the swing of life.
Hope you all had a blessed weekend, that was a bit more enjoyable than ours.
