That bedtime bottle--How did you do it?

So we have graduated Bella to sippy cups, and honestly, it was a pretty easy process.  She isn't a huge fan of milk, but we can get about 16 oz. most days.  Thing is, there is still that bedtime bottle, and this mommy doesn't want to let it go, for so many reasons.  First off, cuddle time.  I love my little baby girl, but in all honesty, she is becoming more of a girl and less of a baby, so cuddle time at night is cherished.  And the fact that the bottle before bed reminds me of those first few months when she was a lil' bit, its hard.

And then there is the nutrition.  that is a guaranteed 5 oz she is drinking everyday.  Does she need it at night, I don't know, but I like to think she does.  And in recent days, she has become a bit dependent on that bedtime bottle too, which worries me we should stop it sooner rather than later.

So anyway, I am torn and need some opinions and advice.  When did you stop the bedtime bottle with your babe, and what did you do in place of it?  I have some ideas, but the more the better!  Thanks ladies.

Well, I breastfed J, and that nighttime feeding (right before bed) was one of the last to go at 12 months. What I did was I STILL rocked him in the same chair that I fed him in, so the bonding and time were still there, just not the feeding. We still rock for a few minutes every night, and he wraps his arms around my neck. It's still a very sweet time without the feeding.
