Bella's 2 Year Well Visit

Ok, so it was a good 10 days ago now, but when we made our trip to visit the doctors at our pediatrician's office, for the regular birthday well check.  Here are the stats--

Weight: 28 lbs, 68th percentile
Height: 35 inches, 75th percentile
Goodness how things have changed since those first few months of your life when we were trying so hard to pull you out of the 15th and 25th percentile.  We are proud of our growing girl!

You acted like such a 2 year old the entire time.  You sang songs for Missy, the Nurse Practitioner, pointed to and named all your body parts, and sat very patiently while Missy checked out all your vitals.  Missy was very impressed with your brains and your little personality.  Said you were a lot like your mommy, though we both know there is a lot of daddy in you too.  I am still amazed at how well you will sit, so patient, as the doctor's and nurses do their exams.  You are just such a trusting little girl!

And then of course the regular immunization, CVC and flu shot.  Because you are old enough to kind of understand what was about to happen, this Mommy put on her Child Life hat, and laid out all the facts about "needle sticks." You listened intently and asked mommy if you'd be ok.  Then when it was time,  you sat so still in Mommy's lap, while they drew your blood and gave you your shots.  You barely flinched when they pricked your finger and you watched in amazement as the blood trickled into the tiny tube.  Not a tear was shed!  And you were pretty proud of your Dora bandaid.  You did sit still for the immunizations, but they were not so tear free.  However, a quick bandaid, hug from Mommy, and sucker from the nurses made it better all that much quicker.

I think next time I'll have you take Hayden to the doctor ;) Our visit did not go like that at all! In fact, all of my kids seem to have doctor anxiety! Anyways, you have one sweet growing girl!
