Big Sister Arrives!

Since Aubrey was so quick to arrive, Bella was able to catch a quick glimpse of her, just a little after midnight, before she headed off to her Grandmom and Grandad's house for the night.  Since she was a pretty tired girl, Bella that is, it was a quick visit with lots of questions, and need for reassurance.  She loved her new little sister, but she was very attuned to the fact that mommy was hooked up to lots of tubes and had funny PJs on--and needed lots of reassurance that all this was ok.  

The next morning though, after everyone had a good night of sleep, Bella came back for a real visit for much of the day!  

The joy on her face when she finally got to hold her lil' sister.

I was so glad Bella was able to spend a lot of time at the hospital and be a part of Aubrey's first few days in this world.  We wanted to make sure Bella felt special, but also understood the significance of welcoming this new lil' person into all our lives.  Daddy was a big help for much of this day, with both girls…and we really appreciated all our visitors too.
