Wedding in ATL

About a month ago we made a trip to Atlanta, to attend, and so Drew could be a groomsman in, a wedding of Drew's old roommate and college fraternity brother.  While we were only going to be gone for 2.5 days, we decided it would be best to make it an adults only trip, and took advantage of our lil' getaway.

After our road trip that should have taken only about 6 hours turned into a total of 7.5 hours, thanks to Drew forgetting his wallet at the house, we arrived at this perfectly southern Hilton hotel in Marietta, GA.

Since our trip to remarkably longer than expected, we rushed to get ready and then headed out to the rehearsal.  I have to say, we clean up pretty well considering we got ready in 15 minutes!

After the rehearsal dinner we headed out with the bride and groom, as well as a few other couples from the wedding party.  I was a little worried because I had never met the bride and didn't really know any of the bridesmaids or girlfriends/wives of the other groomsmen.  But then I met Becky, from FL, and I knew we were going to be good friends after I realized there was someone who likes to dance just as much as me!  We totally rocked that dance floor.

Breakfast at the hotel was buffet style, and words cannot express how perfectly yummy it was.

Since I couldn't think of the last time I had been to the pool minus a child or two in my arms, I decided why not go, with a book in hand, and enjoy a little time just for me.  Best part, not a single person at the pool for the first hour.  Lovely.

While the boys golfed, I decided to head out to Marietta Square, where I enjoyed a yummy lunch at the Australian Cafe, and a bag of chips only found in the true South.

Drew headed out before me to get to the wedding too, but then we met up again--and I'd have to say this may be one of my fav pics of the two of us in some time.  Such a handsome groomsman he is!

The wedding was beautiful, in a garden with beautiful southern charm and
the reception was nice as well.

Turns out there was another lady who was pretty awesome too--Kristen, in the middle--we met that night at the wedding.  Her and her fiance are currently living it up in DC, and the three of us gals had an awesome time--calling ourselves the ATL trifecta by the end of the night.

Looking forward to many a girls trip with these ladies in the months and years to come!

And here are all the boys--men, shall I say.  All Chi Phi Fraternity brothers, who I know were happy to celebrate the marriage of their fraternity brother, Darryl, white shirt, to his lovely wife Dawn.

What an awesome time we had together as a couple on our little trip, and we definitely enjoyed the company of our old, and new, friends.  Looking forward to making memories here again soon, when we head off to Auburn for a football game--my first since we graduated back in 2004!
