The First Doctor's Visit

Well, today was definitely an experience. The briefing of pregnancy information Drew and I were given today was definitely more than I expected. I thought I had lots of books on pregnancy, but now, I have a whole bag full of info on classes, taking care of yourself, and lots of good magazines to read. I will definitely have my hands full these next couple weeks as I weed through the material.

Dr. Girard says all is well, everything "feels" as it should be down there, and in three weeks we will have the chance to hear his or her little heartbeat on the doppler. Considering I had built my hopes up for this appointment, expecting to hear the steady thump of a fetal heartbeat, I was a little, or maybe REALLY disappointed that I didn't get to hear it. I SHOULD be reassured that all is well by her kind words, her exam, and the fact that I am showing every symptom in the book of pregnancy. But I do feel a bit cheated that I didn't get to have that breathtaking moment with my hubby by my side.

But I MUST remember, it will come, and I must be patient and more importantly, trusting. I have got to put all my faith in God that ALL IS WELL with this tiny blueberry sized baby.
