An Account of our trip to Frederick, Maryland

Our trip to Maryland was great!  I enjoyed seeing my two nieces, Rachel and Grace, and they enjoyed meeting little Isabella for the first time.  Considering we were only there for one full day and half of another, our time was jammed pack!

Friday the girls had the chance to meet Bella for the first time, and while she had just woken up from a nap, it didn't take much for her to realize she really liked these girls.  She also enjoyed some cuddle time with her Aunt Amy.

Bella enjoyed a quick dinner, then it was time to go to bed.  After that I spent some time with my nieces showing off Bella's blog to the girls and hearing how things were going with them.  After their bedtime I had the chance to catch up some with Amy, my sister in law.

Saturday was fun filled!  Bella woke up bright and early at 6, like always, and enjoyed some breakfast and playtime before the girls got up.  Rachel soon tiptoed down the stairs and joined Bella in her efforts of rollin and scooting on the floor.

Once everyone was up it was time to plan. Grace had a birthday party to attend so Bella napped and I hung back at the house while my mom dropped off Grace.  Then my mom, Rachel, Bella and I enjoyed a yummy lunch at Five Guys--LOVE their burgers!  While Amy hung back and did some much needed work on their newspaper.  Rachel did a great job keeping Bella entertained while we ate.

Then it was off to get Grace and shop 'till we dropped.  Literally!  We spent about 2 hours at the bookstore and mall with the girls each getting their own mini shopping spree.  Bella had a ball riding along in her stroller and taking in the sites of a new mall. =)

Then it was home and time for a nap before meeting Rachel and Grace's other grandparents, Gale and Norm.  Bella enjoyed playing and showing off for them, but soon it was dinner then back to bed for our little girl.

Sunday we had to leave by 9am, but what a great surprise it was to see Dave Phillip at the end of our time.  He had been gone the entire weekend flying for American Airlines, but somehow managed to take the red eye back so he could meet his new little niece, Isabella.

She liked him a lot, my guess is because he is resembling his dad, Bella's grandpa, more and more with age.

All in all, it was a great trip and I am so glad we were able to make it.  We all had a great time, especially Bella!  It took her two whole days to recover, where she was napping 1.5-2 hours, 3 times a day.  Which many of you know, is NOT like her.

No worries, there will be many pics to follow!
