KY State Fair

I remember the good ol' days at the fair when I was a kid.  Checking out the booths and freebies, riding the rickety rides, and enjoying the greasy, but oh so yummy, fair food--elephant ears, BBQ, corn dogs...  Well, considering I haven't been to the fair, at least since HS, possibly longer, I thought it was about time I returned, and this time introduce little Bella.

Considering Bella isn't quite tall enough for the rides yet, we played it simple and checked out the animals in the west wing.  Considering Bella things anything that moos, oinks, or barks is beyond awesome, I thought this would be the perfect area for her.

Bella wasn't quite sure what to think of the cows.  They were SO BIG, and she couldn't get close enough to touch them.  I think she liked these guys better. =)

Now the bunnies were a sure hit!  She loved every last one from the tiny dwarfs pictured here, to the ones that were bigger than a small dog.

Chickens and roosters were a first for her too.  And though we didn't get a picture, she even got to "pet" a baby chick, with A LOT of assistance from her mom--she nearly squeezed his head off twice, poor chick.

Now one can't go to the fair without visiting Freddy Farm Bureau.  I remember him from when I was very little, and still to this day am trying to figure out where the real Freddy is hiding so he can see all his spectators.

I personally think she was in awe that there is someone taller than her daddy!

And our final stop was in the art section, where we admired the Third Place Ribbon Bella's Poppy, aka my dad, received for his beautiful string artwork.

All in all, it was a fun day!
