Bella has really been enjoying her music class this summer. I tried to snap a few shots of her, but the girl was concentrating so hard I could not get her to break a smile.
It's amazing how she has changed from one summer to the next in this class. I love this music program, Music Together, it involves a lot of singing, dancing and hands-on opportunities with instruments. For the teacher in me, I have to hold myself back because it is said upfront that kids can "do whatever they choose" and especially Bella's first year when she would go stand in the corner away from the group--it was just hard for this structured mom. This summer though she likes to be the center of attention, imagine that, and I love that she knows the words to and sings a long with many of the songs.
It also cracks me up that at the beginning of every class the teacher asks, "Does anyone have any news?" and every time Bella says, "I do!" Now when asked what it is, she rarely has a relevant answer, instead she usually takes that moment to throw out her own personal song requests.
A few times after music class, we have made a trip to My Favorite Muffin, one of the yummiest breakfast places in town. I usually get one large muffin, I know what I like, but then I let Bella pick 3 or 4 mini muffins. These were her choices for the day: Strawberry, Cinnamon Crumb, Double Chocolate Chip, and Sprinkle.
Oh, and yes I do notice that my child has stickers on her forehead and cheeks. Before music class on this specific day she found these stickers somewhere in our house, and stuck them ALL OVER her body. I have learned that there are some battles worth fighting, and truly stickers on the face--not worth it in my book.
Here she is enjoying our Music Class CD in the car…
