I survived!

Getting back into the swing of school is always difficult for me, but this year it has been extra difficult.  Considering my first full week of school consisted of three 8am meetings, two afternoons at school until 5:15, and one afternoon lasting until 6:30 as we interviewed new teachers.  On top of it all, I was still in that first 13 weeks of pregnancy time period, which meant sleep was vital, but also something I felt like I couldn't get enough of, regardless of how much I could get.

So even though that first week seems like a blur looking back, I was able to feel my babe for the first time at 13 weeks!  Amazing it was, and I swear it was because of all the meetings I had…  I had to sit just right, with my arm resting on my belly, but it was definite movement, not a kick but more like a swimming motion back and forth.  I swear this was God's way of helping me making it through this week--and the baby's way of reminding me what's most important.

Later, on that weekend I was blessed with a real kick of some kind--maybe it was the baby showing his or her frustration in the middle of a not so good Auburn game or maybe it was the coffee I had at 4pm that day, to help me actually make it through the game--either way, it was another sign of reassurance that all is well with our little babe.  And it gives me plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead as the movement will begin to increase as our baby grows.
