Anyone who knows our dog knows that he loves both his mom and dad greatly, and pretty equally! However, this is now how Caddy spends every minute of his day here in the last few weeks. Drew has recently nicknamed him "Bodyguard" because Caddy has become my constant shadow and escort, and will rarely leave my side to pay attention to anyone else, even Drew. Awake or asleep, if I am at home Caddy is right by my side, and when I am not home he waits by the nearest door for my return. And if I dare shut a door, and not allow him in a room, he is a whiny mess, when before he would just opt to sleep and wait!
I have had several theories about this change in his behavior, but the only one that seems to hold true is he knows I am pregnant, or at least, knows there is something different about me, besides my growing belly. Considering the amazing skills of dogs, many who can sense the development of cancer or the onset of a seizure, I guess this idea should not be that strange to me.
