Our First Ultrasound Experience

What an exciting thing it is to see your little baby on that screen and know that that little baby is inside of you. The emotion behind it all was filled with joy, pride and love...and honestly, I don't think I have ever seen Drew more focused on a screen in all my life! He too was amazed how we could see her long narrow feet, her beating heart, brain and spine. We both laughed out loud as we watched our baby attempt to wrap herself in a ball, pulling her feet over her head with her hands.

The actual ultrasound took 30+ minutes, thanks to the fact that our little girl already moves to the beat of her own drum. She was quite content moving and posing for the camera, but she was very unwilling to move from the cozy place she found resting right above my pelvic bone. After LOTS of pokes and shakes of my belly by the technician, followed by lots of laughs because I am rather ticklish, and two trips to the bathroom by me, we were able to get her to turn just enough. After learning she is a girl, we were quite grateful for her modesty.

We ask that you continue to pray for our baby's health as she continues to grow and develop over the next 20 weeks. She still has a ways to go, but we are excited to see she is active and doing well at this time.

Below are a few profile pics of our sweet baby girl.

So photogenic, isn't she?

Here you can see she has her hand in her mouth.

Yeah, a lot of her friends here will be boys too, so she is going to have a lot to choose from. If her daddy would let her. =)
