At 14 months, you are a joy to be with Bella. You are so independent, and yet so loving of those who are important to you. You give hugs and kisses regularly, and you continue to love to cuddle, more and more. I love our morning time on the weekends right before your morning nap. We snuggle up and snack on the couch while we catch up on the latest Handy Manny, your favorite cartoon (I think you may think it's Daddy). While I am proud to be a working mommy, these days I would love to have more time to play with you!
We think we may have a future engineer on our hands. A day doesn't go by when you aren't trying to latch or unlatch a lock or turning over a toy to see how it works. Or maybe a veterinarian, because there isn't a dog or animal of any kind really, that you don't love. You especially love playing with Caddy's leash and chasing him around trying to hook him up to it. You are so curious, and so proud when you do succeed to solve some of these problems.
You continue to amaze me with your speech! Now, your daddy thinks you are talking Japanese, and wonders where you learned it from, but regardless you are begining to put words together to make short 2 word sentences. Your favorite phrases are, "I did it, Tank oo (Thank you), and What's at? (What's that)."
Your personality continues to shine. You are a darling little tot and your daddy and I are forever reminded of how blessed we are. You LOVE to make others laugh, and your own laugh is infectious! In fact, I call you my little 'squeaker' because that is truly how you sound. You are good at following directions and helping mommy whenever you can, even learning very slowly to pick up your own toys.
Food is forever a battle in our household, and the battle of the veggies continues. At this time it seems you like cream corn and mashed potatoes... I'm sure hoping that expands over time. Fruit remains to be a staple in your diet, and you love turkey, nutragrain bars, eggs, and cheese. Peanut butter is also a new found like, however you don't really like the sticky nature of it quite yet.
You have just begun to explore the world of imaginative play. You stir with your spoon and pans, you talk to mommy and daddy on your phone, you pour drinks for anyone who is willing, and you even arrange your Little People in your playhouse. I know this world will expand to even greater bounds in the months to come, but I love seeing the beginings of such child-like behavior.
Sleep remains to be a big deal for you, and you are sleeping most days from 7:30-6:00, even begining to sleep in on some of mommy's off days, thank goodness! Naps are good, still sleeping about an hour and a half in the morning and a second nap, about an hour, in the afternoon. You tend to do that afternoon nap a bit better with your grandparents, but even if you don't sleep when you are at home, you love playing and talking to your monkeys in your bed during nap time.
You are a jewel Bella, and what a blessing it is that Drew and I can come home everyday to such a loving, joyful and playful little girl. You make every day brighter because you are a part of it!
