While I grew up a carrier of Strep throat, literally, never before had I seen such a lovely rash to accompany it. When I took B to the doctor, Strep was the last thing I thought it could be. In fact, Drew was the reason I took her! Usually I am all about the doctor's visits just to be sure, but since I had a 6 week rash from 5th disease, I figured she had finally caught it from me. Good thing he had me take her.
After making what seemed liked our monthly visit to the doctor, turns out Bella tested super positive for Strep, which looking back would explain her loss of appetite, and tiredness she had been complaining of for about a week. But never did she run a fever, and only once did she complain of her throat. Strange bacteria it is… I can only hope she doesn't become a frequent flier to the doctor for this yucky illness.
She is feeling better, and truly never really felt horribly bad, but the rash is still lingering as of today, though it is now moved down to her arms and belly, rather than her face. I talked to my friend about it, and she said it is possible she could have 5th disease as well, which could be the reason for the lingering rash. Lovely.
