Springfest 2012

Bella and I got to enjoy some free fun a few weekends ago.  We checked out the Springfest, down in Old Louisville.  A great craft show that had tons of free fun for the kiddos.  While it was our first year visiting we will definitely be back next year!

Our first stop was at a church sponsored tent, with tons of fun activities for the kids.  Bella couldn't resist getting a bumblebee tattoo.

See how proud she is?

Then she saw another little girl with her face painted so of course she wanted to join in the fun.

I think she makes a pretty cute bunny rabbit.

Then it was off to the Kosair Shriner's Kid Zone.  Here we got to listen to stories by the Blue Apple Players, bounce and slide in BIG jumpies, and even win a prize playing a few carnival-like games.  There was also a science zone and craft station, but we didn't managed to make it to that--but all the reason to go next year, since remember, it is all FREE!

Then B and I checked out all the little stands.  I managed to find a new pair of earrings, and some treats for Caddy.  And Bella, well, she saw this fancy face painting, that was NOT free, but well worth the cost once I saw her reaction to the end result.

This child was obsessed with mirrors the whole day.  I even let her nap with the paint on, which didn't smudge a bit, and she pranced around the house like a fairy princess the rest of the day.  And surprisingly, it washed right off at bedtime.

We had a blast at the Springfest and are looking forward to making it a regular Spring activity in the years ahead.
