Monday, October 1st was our special appointment where we got to check in and finally see our little babe. I love being able to have an inside view on things--how did our parents do it without ultrasound--especially as we check on your development and check off all those little boxes to make sure you are as perfect as we prayed you will be. This ultrasound turned out to be a little different than your sister's though.
This must be a regular habit for you, because every time we got a full body shot of you, you had one or both hands in your mouth--Love it!
This little one likes to hang out right under and sometimes behind my placenta, so checking off all those boxes was a bit difficult. Funny because, you looked so content there, sucking on your whole hand of fingers--as opposed to your thumb like your sister--and stretching your legs out as long as they would go. Kind of felt bad disturbing you. ;) All in all, you are in the 75percentile for weight currently, at a whopping 9oz, though we couldn't get a length because you refused to stretch out or move out of your cozy space--and we tried everything! Your heart rate was 143, so to me, that says you may be a bit different from your sis in that department too. Oh, and of course the BIGGEST NEWS is… WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER SWEET AND PRECIOUS BABY GIRL!
Kick, Kick, Kick!
Here you are stretching out those legs.
At the end of the ultrasound we felt good about your health, you heart looked good, as did your brain. However, we will be going back in about 4 weeks, to get a better look at a few things that weren't visible because of where you decided to chill for the whole ultrasound. As the doctor said, "this is so we can check off our boxes, and NOT because we are concerned about anything--because everything looks normal at this time." Phew!
And I just had to post this precious, and perfect, picture of your little foot.
I can't believe that I will be holding you in 20 weeks or less! Wow, where has the time gone? Words cannot express how EXCITED we are to welcome this baby girl into our household, her sister Bella, probably more excited than anyone--though we will get to her reaction in a whole other post. And words can also not express, how overwhelmed I am at the thought of redoing two little girl rooms--that may be more than my little brain can handle after I attempted my search for the perfect bed…also to be addressed in another post.
Thanks for all the warm wishes from family and friends about our exciting news too! I think Facebook got the announcement first, but I had to make sure I added all the good details on here, and of course, the US pics.
