20 months

Here you are at 20 months--or maybe just a few days shy.  How amazing it continues to be to watch you grow and learn.  And these days you are learning a lot!

Currently you LOVE

Swinging, 

This is your favorite outdoor activity here lately, and you always look so pleased and content when you are doing it, good thing we have lots of parks nearby and even a few willing friends who will share a swing every now and then

Reading your books,

You literally spend hours every day, opening and closing your books, flipping through the pages, and mostly reading the "stories" aloud to anyone and everyone who is listening--Current favorites are Biscuit, A Fly Went By, Madeline, Disney Princess Stories, Boxed Fairy Tale Set

Ariel,

You watch this movie at leasr twice a week and request it nearly every day, you know how to sing like Ariel right on cue and Mommy and Daddy therefore cannot wait to see your reaction when you meet this red haired princess

Star Baby,

Star baby is a baby doll that is pretty important to you, named after her star studded sleeper, she is a special baby doll that goes nearly everywhere and is a friend even at bedtime

Singing, 

You love singing, you love your Heartland Music CD, and "ME, me, me" is your current favorite followed by "Fireworks."  You love singing along with songs you know, but you also like making up your own songs about Mommy, Daddy, Caddy and Mo

Swimming in the pool,

This past week you really started "testing the waters" in the Oxmoor baby pool, crawling around on all fours and then letting your backside float up as you "kick, kick, kick," you even tried to lay down in the 1 1/2ft deep water, which led to an impromptu lesson in floating on your back

Daddy,
Yes, mommy is still important but following the current trends of your life, it seems that mommy is out and daddy is IN.  Since you are spending most of your days with your momma thanks to my summer off, you have become to realize that daddy is not around as much.  You ask for him a lot, and even want to wake him up first thing in the morning…which occasionally you do achieve.  So glad your daddy is so important to you and you have realized early on just how special he is.

Our Recent Proud Parent Moments

Shapes. You have really started taking in all that's around you.  To date you can name and identify 3 shapes, a heart, circle, and star.  

Colors. Your favorite color is blue, and one you say consistently.  You can also say and identify pink and orange most of the time.  Though we usually get blue as your first reply. =)

Sentences.  This past week or so, I have seen the development of full fledged sentences.  You are recalling activities you have done and are able to tell and talk about them like a big kid.  AMAZING!
