Well, we have officially made it through our first week of potty training. Yes, you read that correctly. My nearly 21 month old baby, is moving closer and closer to toddlerhood, her crib being the only sign that there may be a bit of baby left in her. Bella has been showing signs that she was ready since the begining of the summer, but when she asked a few weeks ago, "Me sit potty too?" I knew it was time, whether or not I was ready. So I did a poll on FB to find the best method for us, bought a bag of MMs and then a treat box of princess goodies, two potty seats, put on her training pants--pullups only for long outings-- and haven't looked back. This first week has been a good challenge, more for me than her, and she has impressed me time and time again as she picked up so quickly on what it means to go potty IN the potty. And as this week has drawn to an end, she now listens to my reminders, and independently goes in the bathroom when she needs to. AMAZING, I tell you!
And today she managed to make it through the entire day with zero accidents! Yes, I know that does not mean she will never have an accident again nor are we finished with the "training", but the little successes building up to this moment of bigger success are great to think about regardless. And the proud smile she has on her face when she uses the potty, ah, so sweet! I will have some pics sometime in the next week or so, to show off some of her proud moments.
