9 Years of Marriage

It is hard to believe that Drew and I have been married for 9 years!!!  And to think we have actually been "together" for 15 years, Wow!  Where has the time gone?

We did manage to fit in two date nights that week of our anniversary.  Which was pretty good considering it had been since the first week of summer we did something just the two of us.

Our first date night, was impromptu.  I was DESPERATE to get out of the house for a few hours after several days of rain and our club picnic and fireworks being canceled thanks to more of it.

So we dropped off the girls at their Grandmom's for a couple hours, and headed out to Bucca, one of our favorite spots because you can never go wrong with italian food--especially calamari and pasta.

And we even managed to get them home and in bed, just in time for their bedtimes.

The true anniversary celebration was on the night of our anniversary, July 10.
Since dinner and a movie--well just a movie technically--is what started it all 15 years ago, we planned for that again.

We had dinner at El Nopal, and headed to the theaters to see Man of Steel--which may be my new favorite super hero movie to date.

We are so thankful for both sets of grandparents who took our girls in to make this happen.  Bella is a pro at sleepovers at this point and she enjoyed the night playing until the sun went down at Grammy's.

And Aubrey had her first sleepover too--and while she did wake up twice in the night at Grandmom's, she woke up the next AM with a smile.  As always.

I am so blessed to have such an awesome man in my life--a godly leader of our household, a loving father to our girls, and a devoted husband through the ups and downs.  I can't imagine my life without him in it, he makes each blessing we share possible and that much better because he is there to enjoy it with me.
